I love eating Japanese food, and one of my favorite things to eat is sashimi. I’m usually disappointed when I order sashimi at a restaurant and get thin slices of fish on a plate with a larger side bowl of rice.
However, I’ve found a place that serves some high-quality sashimi, and it’s on the right side of the bay! (Yes, I do mean the East Bay.)
Yo Sushi is a small restaurant in Alameda located in a small shopping complex right after the Webster tunnel. I love the Yo Sashimi combo, which is four pieces of tuna, salmon, hamachi, and white tuna. The fish is very fresh, and the best part is that they cut the fish into thick slices, so each bite is extremely flavorful and satisfying. It comes with the rice bowl, of course, which I eat alongside the delicious sashimi.
